It’s the dream of many sailors…to circumnavigate the world on their own boat. When our friends and customers, Chuck and Alexis Lynn Evans announced to us shortly after buying their Island Packet 380 from us seven years ago that they intended to do just that, we were a little skeptical. After all, they had little experience and it was just a 38 foot boat. Ah but it was an Island Packet – one of the best cruising sailboats ever made – AND Chuck and Lynn were one very determined cruising couple! They showed us just how determined when they arrived back in the Florida Keys on New Year’s Day, 2013 flying the flags of all the countries they had visited thus completing their “trip around the world”. Well actually it will be officially complete when they arrive back at the Whiteaker Yacht Sales office at Regatta Pointe Marina in Palmetto, Florida. This is where they bought the boat and this is where they will return to have us put their beloved Island Packet 380, “Cyan” on the market and begin to reacquaint themselves with life as “landlubbers”.
